Sigmund the Sea Monster found washed up on San Diego Beach
San Diego: Lovable 1970's Saturday morning character Sigmund the Sea Monster was found washed up on a San Diego beach this week.
Witnesses at the beach recall that the Sea Monster appeared to be lethargic and entangled in a fishing net. Emergency surgery performed at the Southern California Center for Marine Life removed thirty pounds of plastic debris in several of it's stomachs.
A Marine Center spokesperson was quoted saying that they hoped this event would "draw attention to the ocean becoming a dumping ground and tragedy's like this are happening all to often," Whales, Dolphins and now Sea Monsters.
A Go Fund me site has been set up to help the Sea Monster with medical expenses.
