STUNNING REALIZATION MADE IN VINTAGE CANADIAN TELEVISION PROGRAM!
Classic 80's Children's TV Series 'You Can't Do That On Television' has managed to maintained something of a nostalgic following in The States since it was syndicated some years ago. And the question has been raised in recent years (and some more distant ones as well!) 'What exactly about it could you NOT do on Television???' Norton Bombstein of the National Fanboy Association states 'Yeah, the kids Back-sassed... but what kids don't? And the humor was gross... but who cares?'Now it seems that many believe that the anomaly had something to do with the changing attitudes towards what has been deemed appropriate behavior on TV over the decades, and that perhaps viewers some 35-40 years ago were more sensitive. In fact... this was entirely NOT the case, and TV was resplendent with tasteless & insipid humor during that time period! (See Under: 'Hello Larry'!)Some suggest that the confusion may have stemmed from misconceptions in the Canadian Television Industry and that perhaps they felt U.S. Television was held to a higher standard. 'So your banking on the theory that no one in Canada had watched American TV', retorted Mr. Bombstien. 'Highly illogical!'
