ALL'S WELL, THAT'S ORWELL! IT SEEMS BIG BROTHER IS INFACT WATCHING YOU!
It has been mentioned on occasion over the last several DECADES that Dystopian Novel 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' in many ways hit the proverbial nail-on-the-head on an uncanny number of occasions. As more and more of our lives involve the One Eyed Monster (The PC... Not the Cyclopes!) this dynamic is proving more the Rule, rather than the Exception! From that time I tried to look up this song from an old Japanese Kid's Cartoon I watched as a child & had Anime Theme Songs clog my 'Suggested Playlist' for the next six months, to the time I shopped online for that replacement stepladder & subsequently received umpteen zillion ads for stepladders! (Across multiple platforms!?!)
Now I don't know if everyone else's Ill-Gore-isms are so transparent... but I'm sure that many have had at least limited experience with this phenomenon. Heck, I bought my Granddaughter a crib some 12+ years ago, and I'm STILL getting E-Mails from Babies-R-Us! (& they went bust in 2018!?!) Now the truly weirdest example of these MAC-iavelli happenings, happened to me just the other day. There was this old song which for the life of me I could not get out of my head, nor could I think of the title! After racking my brains for what can only describe as a needlessly extended period of time (and ultimately, just giving up!) one can only imagine my surprise when the very next day that song which had so alluded me was right there (almost mocking me!) in my suggestion box!?!Now while even I must admit (my delusional paranoia aside!) that this last example is in all probability a bizarre coincidence... it plays to the the general 'What The Flock!' moments that seem to be oh so on the rise in this, the age that will one day be referred to as 'the Decade Which Shall Not Be Mentioned'! Now I don't pretend to imagine to speculate to the suggestion that there is any (dare I say?) Agenda behind this 'information retrieval'! What I DO say... is perhaps there is more to the Computer's most prominent component being termed 'The Monitor' than we ever dreamed of!
