Bad Ass 80's bands are just Bad now

Forty years ago  bands like Styx and Foreigner ruled the airwaves. These bands were on top of their game and on top of the world and although music may be timeless people aren't.

Today you can see bands like Motley Crue ,Guns and Roses, Ratt, Dokken and Poison playing clubs and small venues making complete asses out of themselves.

Their is an artist expression called stay hungry, this

means do everything you can not to loose your edge and these bands doing the nostalgia milk it tours not only have lost their edge but they haven't missed a meal. The chops are on their plate, but not on the stage.  These 80's bands are fat apathetic and just out to make a buck.

Bands like Journey, Styx and Foreigner have side stepped the fat lead singer problems of the the glam metal bands by simply replacing them with a younger, thinner singer. If your lucky there is one or two original members of the band on stage and in the case of Foreigner the last original member guitarist Mick Jones arranged his contract to only play 50% of the shows, so half of Foreigner shows are basically a cover band.

People are buying tickets to see a band in name only. The band Chicago only original member is the trumpet player. Kansas only the drummer remains.  The Eagles, Cheap Trick and Van Halen are replacing band members with their sons to keep things hobbling along.

This pathetic excuse for rock and roll is coming to your town soon, the Geritol fueled show will probably start early due to the band needing their rest and having back problems, but for half and hour you can sing loudly along to the sounds of the 80's because the singer doesn't sound anything like the one you remember.
