Gregg Allman new Album about Farts

Rock and Roll superstar Gregg Allman has released a new album that is turning heads with its gaseous theme. Farting up a Storm is the classic rockers ninth solo album and includes the songs "Silent but Deadly", "Windy City", "Barking Spider", "Backfire", and a  thirty minute instrumental called  "Breaking Wind".

Allman calls the album a follow up to his 1977 classic Playing up a Storm, but with a twist. He went on to say he had done just about everything musically and wanted to explore a different direction and farts represents a kind of release from the internal pressures we all face.

The album musically is solid, however relays to much on  effects like the Air Biscuit processor and  the Fart Pedal and not enough of the Hammond Organ he is famous for. The limited subject matter also hurts the depth of the lyrics when every song is about farts.

On first glance Farting up a Storm seems beneath the accomplished artist, but upon repeated listening the true genius of Allman comes out  and we see the confidence only a mature songwriter can deliver. Farting up a Storm is a must play for any party or social gathering.
