Racoon city police department to finally issue suspensions for negligence

Although it was over twenty years ago, the Raccoon City police department has finally issued suspensions for negligence over the catastrophic virus outbreak  situation the city suffered in 1998 and 1999.

The virus outbreak resulted in the deaths of citizens and  billions of dollars of damage. The owner of Bar Black Jacks in downtown Racoon city who witnessed the devastation firsthand called the event  "total anarchy and the total breakdown of law and order."

Police chief Brian Irons apologized to the citizens of the city saying "we have let you down and it is our hope that these actions of this investigation will help the city heal and move on."  The Racoon City Times reported that officers Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine who's whereabouts are still unknown were posthumously suspended without pay following a lengthy internal investigation.

The three members were associated with the city's STARS group of elite officers. Irons said "the very people we trained for serious situations weren't there when we needed them."

The investigation was brought on by the family of Dario Rosso who died in a warehouse during the upheaval and Umbrella Corporation that complained that their Racoon City research facility was badly damaged as result of Racoon City police negligence.
