LONG TIME POPULAR CONFECTIONARY FORCED TO RECONCIDER IT'S BRAND!
At a recent taste test for the famous candy, the Peppermint Pattie, participants were asked to describe what 'Sensations' they experienced while eating it. Responses were divided... with some people becoming noticeably uncomfortable and leaving, while most simply gave the response 'I have the sensation of eating chocolate and mint!?!'. What was NOT sensed... was, Cliff Diving into a Scandinavian fiord, running barefoot through a snowy Alpine pass or jaunting to the tip of Mount Kilimanjaro!
It appears that the sensationalism of the candy consuming experience dates back to the 1970s, where an Ad Campaign for the treat sought out 'actual testimonials' from 'people on the street'. In an attempt to secure their spot in the commercials, people would often overdramatize the experience! 'Running through rainforests & swimming in mountain streams were often presented as responses when folks were asked how they liked the candy' stated Ray Duval, CEO of the Ad Agency Duval's Advocates. 'We were just hoping for things like 'It's Good!'.'
And though there has been no documented case of 'The Sensation' ever actually being recorded, it is clear no intentional deception took place during the Ad Campaign. Which is more than can be said for a rival confectionary, once it was determined how astronomically low the probability is for the random collision of Chocolate & Peanut Butter!
